Educating the Whole Child

Independence Academy is a private 1st-6th grade Christian School. The Academy was established in 1983 and has gone through a number of changes over the years to better educate “the whole child.”

The Dighton Campus was opened Fall of 2021 with a First Grade classroom. We are accepting students in grades 1-4 for the 2022-2023 school year.

Our Philosophy:

1. Each child is a whole person with their own spiritual, physical, emotional and academic talents and challenges.
2. Education is a way of life.
3. Teaching good habits is integral to education.
4. Family participation in education is essential.
5. Nature has inspirational, educational, and healing effects on children and should be part of a child’s daily schedule.

Our curriculum is aligned with the Charlotte Mason philosophy of teaching and includes Montessori, Waldorf, and Nature Schooling techniques.

We offer a 3-day a week program with assignments to complete at home 2 days a week.
